This is really helpful, thank you. You are running on a 15 yr old system without AVX. We're working on a fix and will make it available via the beta asap - until then you can downgrade to 25.7 which should still work on your system. Thanks again.

Please downgrade to 25.7 (via CCD) and then share Help > System Info from Photoshop. We thought we had a fix for this and are now trying to figure out what the configuration is that currently triggers the crash on launch. Thanks.

You have a very good point. Unless you want to downgrade to 25.7 (which should still work on these systems), you can type 'msinfo' from the search bar on Windows and then File > Save that info and share it here. Thanks.

We confirmed we fixed one issue related to this (I was seeing the same error on my 13-yr old Windows 10 system, but now can launch without error), so I think there must be something else about your configuration. Can you please do me a favor and share your Help > System Info from Photoshop?

Also make sure your display is connected to your RTX 3060 GPU and not the internal Intel UHD 770 GPU.

@Joe335599851cqo Try navigating to c:/program files/Adobe/Photoshop 2024/Required/Plug-ins/Filters and add a ‘~’ to the front of both the MaterialsFilter and MaterialsSuite plugin names in the folder. Then check to see if the app launches without crashing.

Try going to ACR preferences in Photoshop (Edit > Preferences > Camera Raw > File Handling and disable support for opening JPEG and HEIC files. Then restart your system. Does that help?

You have very little free space on your primary drive. Trying freeing up some space so that you have at least 50GB free before you launch PS. Does that help?
